Luís Paulo Faria Ribeiro
He has a landscape architecture degree from Instituto Superior de Agronomia in Lisbon. PhD/University of Massachusetts (Luso-American Foundation scholar), he received the “Fabos Silver Medal” award. He is a member of the National Academy of Fine Arts and the Portuguese Association of Landscape Architects. As lecturer at ISA/ULisboa, he teaches and coordinates master’s and doctoral courses and theses. He publishes in journals in Europe, the USA, South Korea, and China, and books on theory, design, and teaching of landscape architecture. He is a co-founder of the Professor Caldeira Cabral Landscape Research Center/LEAF/ULISBOA and founding partner of TOPIARIS, studio with projects in Angola, Cape Verde, USA, Gabon, Mozambique, Portugal, Switzerland, Timor. He is an expert in the restoration of historic gardens and a member of the advisory council for Parques de Sintra e Monte da Lua, and also a jury member for the Teresa and Vasco Vilalva Heritage Recovery Award/Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, and of the South Apex/Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian competition.
