Atlas Paraíso, hoje. – Launch in Lisbon

Presentation of the book Atlas Paraíso, hoje., with the presence of the curators and a debate featuring some of the contributors: two of the essayists – António Guerreiro and Maria Manuel Oliveira; two of the landscape architects interviewed – João Gomes da Silva and João Nunes; and two of the photographers – Duarte Belo and Paulo Catrica. The discussion will be moderated by Pedro Bandeira and Catarina Raposo. The debate Paraíso, hoje. aims to question the relevance that the word paradise may still hold in the cultural construction of the contemporary landscape – at a time when territorial planning, or its absence, seems to be yielding to conflicting interests that threaten environmental balance on a planetary scale. The debate brings together authors from different disciplinary fields (architecture, landscape architecture, photography, art, literature) to discuss what can still be done to resist our “burning world.”
