18—25 Research Studio

Laboratory for architectural image construction founded in 2010 and based in Lisbon, led by architects Luca Martinucci and Filipe Alves. Dedicated to researching simulation processes and methods of representation related to the architectural realm, the studio blends multidisciplinary approaches with the History of Architecture and Art. With a strong technological component, its work includes research in the contexts of Virtual and Augmented Reality. Specific projects by the studio have been presented in various exhibitions, including: Aemula Naturae (Inner Space of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, MNAC, 2019); Spherical Intersect (Archisummit Lisbon, Carpintarias de São Lázaro, 2019); Paradise (Natural Intelligence, What AI still can’t do?, Vivarium Festival Porto, 2019; Me, myself, and my avatar, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA, 2018; Utopia/Dystopia, MAAT, 2017); D’après Piranesi (What is innovation in architecture?, MUNHAC, 2016; Arquiteturas Film Festival, Lisbon, 2013 and 2015); Persona 3D 9+1, images and video with artist Tomás Hipólito (Baginsky Gallery, 2013).
