Jorge Queijo
He is a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer, sound artist, producer, and educator. He holds a degree in Jazz from the Escola de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE) in Porto and a master’s degree in Music Leadership from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices, with compositions for film, television, dance, theater, video, sound installations in gallery contexts, and children’s performances. As a performer, he is involved in both solo and collaborative projects that explore improvisation, electronic manipulation, and site-specific soundscapes. Since 2018, he has coordinated the Educational Program of the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos and since 2013, he has represented Casa da Música do Porto to implement its educational program at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in Japan. He has also led workshops and masterclasses in Portugal, Japan, and the UK, fostering dialogue between contemporary music, education, and participatory creation.
